For anyone who has a musician in their family, you know it is their passion. If they are an amateur musician, it’s what they love to do when they are not working their “day job”. My husband is no different. He spends his days doing open heart surgery, operating on very sick people, and attending meetings. When he gets home after a typical 11-14 hour day, he loves to unwind by playing one of his guitars. He has been known to bring a guitar on vacation and play in the hotel room or outside by the campfire.
Today is his birthday, and I wanted to do something special for him. Here is one of the photo art designs I created. I began with a square format, and added some color that would fit into our room decor.
Rock and roll is sort of grungy so I added an edge effect and texture to the canvas that made it more like how I think of rock music.
The next photo has always been one of my favorites. I like how it focuses on the instrument and hands. Here is the original and how it looked after I added it into the photo art.

AFTER I ADDED IT TO THE PHOTO ART:
Next I added this picture, which I think, captures Scott’s passion and exuberance for the guitar and rock and roll.

In keeping with the grungy feel of the photo montage, I modified the edges of the pictures to better fit the overall composition:
Finally, I added some words and sheet music to bring it all together. Here is the finished photo art design.
The second photo art design I created emphasizes just one photo. This picture was taken by Aaron Morgenstern, the saxophone player in my husband’s band, The Midlife Chryslers. It encapsulates his passion for music and the guitar. The way he is looking down at his fingers with such intensity that the rest of the world, and stress of the day just melts away. All that is there, is the music. This is what I see every time I watch him play.

Because this photo speaks volumes to me, I didn’t want to add any others to the composition. Instead, I cut out the background part of the image, and added some elements that I felt enhanced the overall look I was hoping to achieve. Here is what I added. Happy Birthday Honey!! I love you!

All I can say is two fold: Scott, you are one deserved man! Tamara, so are you but of the female gender. I admire you both and wish you all the best today and for the rest of your lives. “ROCK ON”
